We provide an online platform for Customers to request vehicle repair Quotes from independent Bodyshops.

2. What Information We Collect

  • Job-related data: name, email address, phone number, postcode, vehicle details through uploaded images
  • Quote interactions: quote views, selection of a Bodyshop

3. Lawful Basis for Processing

We process personal data based on the following legal grounds:

  • Contractual necessity – to provide the service you request
  • Legitimate interests – to improve service performance and user experience
  • Consent – for optional communications and marketing

4. How We Use Your Information

  • Facilitate the submission of your Job and delivery of Quotes
  • Enable communication with a selected Bodyshop
  • Process secure payments
  • Send service updates and status notifications

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your data. Your data is only shared with Bodyshops after you choose to unlock Quote details. We work with trusted service providers to process payments, support platform security, and enable core platform features. These providers only access the minimum data required to perform their function under strict confidentiality agreements.

6. International Data Transfers

If your data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by relevant authorities or other lawful transfer mechanisms under UK GDPR.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as needed to fulfil our services and comply with legal obligations. Completed or inactive Jobs are removed from our system after 30 days, with minimal metadata retained securely for audit and record purposes.

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

10. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. All data is encrypted during transmission. We do not store payment card details on our platform.

11. Business Transfers

12. Bodyshop Data Collection and Use

When a Bodyshop registers on our platform, we collect the following personal and business data:

  • Business name and trading details
  • Contact name and email address
  • Phone number and postcode
  • Quotes submitted and job interactions
  • Verification status and admin approvals

This data is used to:

  • Enable login and account management
  • Filter jobs based on location
  • Display quotes to Customers once payment is made
  • Notify Bodyshops of relevant jobs and selections
  • Maintain platform security and service records

Bodyshop data is stored securely and only accessible by platform administrators. We do not sell or share Bodyshop data for external marketing purposes.

Bodyshops may request access, correction, or deletion of their data at any time by emailing office@mcquote.co.uk. Deleting an account may result in loss of access to the platform and its services.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal or operational changes. Updates will be published here with revised dates.

Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the My Car Quote platform. By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our service.

2. Our Service

My Car Quote is an online platform that allows vehicle owners (“Customers”) to receive repair Quotes from local independent garages (“Bodyshops”). We are not a repair provider or insurance broker. We do not guarantee, endorse, or manage the services or quotes provided by Bodyshops.

3. User Responsibilities

All users must provide accurate and honest information. Customers must not submit misleading claims or false uploads. Bodyshops must only submit professional, fair quotes. Misuse of the platform may result in account restriction or removal.

4. Quotes and Payments

Quotes submitted by Bodyshops are non-binding until direct engagement. Customers can pay a small fee to unlock full Bodyshop contact details. This payment is non-refundable. My Car Quote does not facilitate or guarantee any outcome between the parties.

5. Bodyshop Account Use

Registered Bodyshops are responsible for maintaining accurate business profiles. We reserve the right to suspend accounts due to misuse, abuse, or persistent inactivity. Bodyshops must treat all Customer data with confidentiality and comply with UK data protection laws.

6. Data Privacy

Use of the platform is governed by our Privacy Policy. We process Customer and Bodyshop data in accordance with applicable privacy laws and ensure all third-party services comply with relevant standards.

7. Intellectual Property

All platform content, including text, logos, and visuals, are owned or licensed by My Car Quote. No content may be copied, distributed, or reused without written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

We act solely as an intermediary. We are not liable for disputes, losses, or damages arising from Customer-Bodyshop interactions or quotes. All responsibilities and obligations rest solely with the respective parties.

9. Modifications

We reserve the right to update these Terms as needed. Changes will be posted with the updated effective date. Continued use of the platform signifies acceptance of the revised terms.

Cookies Policy

Payment Policy

Customers may pay to unlock quote details. Payments are non-refundable except in cases of verified technical failure. All transactions are handled securely by a third-party processor.

Email Policy

We send important service-related emails (e.g. job updates). Marketing emails are only sent if you explicitly opt-in and include a one-click unsubscribe option.

Social Media Privacy

We do not share customer personal data on social media. With explicit consent, customer testimonials may be featured in dedicated sections such as “What Our Customers Are Saying.”
